SIMPLE TRADING Can Be HARD And COMPLEX

SIMPLE TRADING Can Be HARD And COMPLEX

SIMPLE TRADING Can Be HARD And COMPLEX. It’s a very common problem with traders making strategies far more complex than they need to be.

Complex strategies generally start from a simple trading strategy which works well for the trader, but then that strategy is tweaked and re-tweaked in an attempt to make it even more profitable. This complex re-tweaking often over optimizes the simple trading system.

The results vary, the trader loses confidence and the ability to execute their trades, and they think about system jumping to a better system.

Simple Trading Is Like Training To Be a Martial Arts Master

An old martial arts story might tell you some of the mindset you ought to apply when trying to make simple trading strategies:

A young boy traveled across Japan to the school of a famous martial artist. When he arrived at the dojo he was given an audience by the Sensei
“What do you wish from me?” the master asked.
“I wish to be your student and become the finest kareteka in the land,” the boy replied. “How long must I study?”
“Ten years at least,” the master answered.
“Ten years is a long time,” said the boy. “What if I studied twice as hard as all your other students?”
“Twenty years,” replied the master.
“Twenty years! What if I practice day and night with all my effort?”
“Thirty years,” was the master’s reply.
“How is it that each time I say I will work harder, you tell me that it will take longer?” the boy asked.
“The answer is clear. When one eye is fixed upon your destination, there is only one eye left with which to find the Way.”

Simple trading can help traders eliminate “analysis paralysis.” Once you have identified what your trading goals are, you know what time frames suit your temperament best, know which markets are best suited to your simple trading method.

Which currency pairs or instruments suit your methodology the best, and how you can manage your risk.

Then, focus on executing your simple trading plan as flawlessly possible as you can.
